Manila, Philippines (24 June 2016) – The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) extended their gratitude to ADEC Innovations CEO and Global CEO Alliance Chairman James M. Donovan for his invaluable contribution and active participation in the second session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-2) last May 27, 2016, in Nairobi, Kenya.

In a letter sent by the Secretary of Governing Bodies Jorge Laguna-Celis, the UNEP acknowledged Mr. Donovan’s insightful contributions during the multi-stakeholder dialogue, “Restoring and Sustaining Healthy Ecosystems for People and Planet: Partnerships to Jointly Deliver on the Environmental Dimension of the 2030 Agenda.”

“It is our view, supported also by feedback we have received from member states, that it was a very successful event that should be repeated at future UNEA meetings,” Laguna-Celis wrote. The letter also came with an invitation for Mr. Donovan to attend UNEA-3 in December 2017.

Created by the UNEP and supported by major groups, stakeholders and 193 countries, UNEA is the world’s highest-level decision making body on the environment. In their letter of gratitude to Mr. Donovan, UNEP and UNEA requested that open lines of communication be maintained for the purpose of working together on future assemblies.

ADEC Innovations’ dedication to support UN projects is aligned with its advocacy arm, ADEC Foundation which promotes the advancement of people and planet by working closely with stakeholders from the public and private sectors, civil society, multilaterals, and the United Nations.
