Manila, Philippines (March 2, 2016) – The ADEC Foundation has partnered with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Scientific Research Foundation, Inc., to further advance the development of public-private partnership (PPP) standards for the global health sector by examining and analyzing PPP issues in the Philippines.

The two organizations formalized their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the "Leadership and Governance Research in PPP" signed at the Asian Institute of Management by ADEC Foundation Chairman James M. Donovan and AIM President, CEO and Dean Jikyeong Kang.

The partnership also includes the establishment of a PPP Research Laboratory. This aims to develop monographs, case research and working papers on the leadership, governance and integrity dimensions of Philippine PPP experiences in policy implementation and project execution. It will also investigate socio-economic, political and policy-related issues affecting PPP project implementation. Furthermore, the research laboratory will convene policymakers, government officials, implementing agencies of PPPs, civil society organizations, researchers, and private sector lenders and investors in learning sessions and workshops.

"The establishment of the PPP Research Laboratory is crucial in studying the efficient delivery of projects related to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, and in determining how they can have a direct, tangible and positive impact across the world," explains ADEC Foundation Chairman Mr. James Donovan.

The ADEC Foundation is in partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) to host the UNECE International Specialist Centre for PPP in Health. The PPP Centre is a research and information platform that aims to develop standards for the successful implementation of PPP projects in health through research, policy, capacity building and collaboration.

As a pioneer in international management education, AIM's dedication in this partnership is motivated by its mission towards making a difference in promoting the sustainable development of Asian societies. Dean Kang adds, "our extensive and comprehensive experience in global research complements ADEC Foundation's commitment in accomplishing SDG-related projects."
